A terrifying home invasion in Joliet, Illinois, ended with a pregnant mother taking decisive action to protect herself and her young child. Authorities have ruled the shooting a case of self-defense.

A quiet evening turned into a nightmare when a man allegedly forced his way into the home of a pregnant woman known publicly as Liv, the girlfriend of Chicago YouTuber CJ On 32s. According to reports, Liv was inside the residence with her 1-year-old daughter when the intruder entered the home.

Fearing for their lives, Liv gathered her toddler and hid inside a closet, hoping to avoid being discovered. However, the situation escalated when the intruder allegedly opened the closet door.

Authorities identified the suspect as 36-year-old Shelby Hurd, who reportedly had an extensive criminal history that included multiple burglary convictions and was on parole at the time of the incident. Police said he was armed with a screwdriver when he entered the home.
