The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Shifty Shellshock, born Seth Binzer, passed away on June 24. Officials did not immediately release additional details surrounding his death

Binzer was best known as the frontman of the rap-rock band Crazy Town, whose early-2000s hit “Butterfly” became a defining track of its era. His distinctive voice and stage presence helped shape the band’s identity during the height of the nu-metal movement.

In a public statement, a close collaborator reflected on Binzer’s impact, describing his “incredible talent and larger-than-life personality” as leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him and on the music they created together.
